About Me
- Becky
- Becky is the Eastern Regional Representative for IDA and a former VA Branch President. She is a teaching veteran of 39 years and still counting! Currently, Becky is a Reading Consultant and has a private practice in the Central VA area. She is a triple certified Special Educator and has served on a state committee to assist in writing the test items for reading and special education certifications on behalf of the Dept. of Teacher Licensure. Becky began her affiliation with IDA initially through membership in the Orton Dyslexia Society some 32 years ago! She has taught professional development courses for teacher in MSL and reading instruction. Becky has co-piloted a researched-based reading program for at-risk high school students that still exists after over 10 years of implementation. Becky is married to an environmental chemist; they have two beautiful children and two beautiful grandsons!
